ClevelandBikes advances and promotes all forms of bicycling as economical and healthful recreation, sport and transportation; and advances and defends the rights of Northeastern Ohio cyclists to use the roads and to fair trail access.

• ClevelandBikes works to make cycling on the roads throughout the Northeastern Ohio a safe and respectable transportation choice by educating its members and the motoring public.
• ClevelandBikes advocates universal and equal access by bicycle to every destination reachable via the public roads. Our purpose is to advance understanding of the principles and practices of bicycle driving, and to incorporate this into public policies and projects.
• Cleveland/Bikes supports properly designed and maintained off road facilities as useful for recreational bicycle use and as supplements to the roadway system. However, the road system is the primary bicycle transportation network. Therefore, we regard every road to be a bicycle facility and every lane to be a bicycle lane.
• Cleveland/Bikes supports and advocates fair shared access to off road trails for mountain bicycling.
