Cleveland Bicycle Week, May 10-18

Join us on for week-long activities as part of the first "Cleveland Bicycle Week, " May 10-18, for fun, exciting and informative cycling activities

Join us for the biggest gathering of cycling interests and activities ever in Northeast Ohio as we celebrate, educate and collaborate for a stronger cycling community. Whether you bicycle for transportation, recreation, health or sport, did in the past, or want to again in the future, we have something for you. Come join us for week-long activities during the month of May, national Bicycling Month, including:

*  Bicycle Advocacy Conference: Information for planners, engineers and everyday citizens, working to improve riding opportunities in their community. Learn what works in other cities and countries and what works right here in Northeast Ohio. Meet Andy Clarke, President of the hundred year old League of American Bicyclists and other national and international cycling leaders

*   Bike to Work Rides Every day of the Week: Ride to work with friends and co-workers, with contests and prizes. Ride and join us for coffee and breakfast the Downtown YMCA (East 22nd Street and Prospect Avenue)  where you can store your bike securely, shower and receive a free YMCA day pass! 

*  Fun Activities for You, Friends and Family: Join us on a Scavenger Hunt, Bike to the Movies, check out Bike Art or watch exciting demonstrations of "flatland bicycle skills at the galleria.  You'll have to see these performers to believe it!

* Learn Information About Cycling Activities in Northeast Ohio: Learn about "Walk and Roll Cleveland" or fastrack bicycle racing and the new velodrome project or the Bicycle Station at Gateway project!.

*Reception with the Mayor and civic leaders as we visit the new Treadway Trail: Will Cleveland receive national recognition as a Bicycle Friendly Community?

All week long, we'll be gathering your thoughts and recommendations, in person and online, to develop an agenda for cycling in Northeast Ohio. We welcome your involvement and encourage you to share your thoughts and ideas about making Northeast Ohio a better, safer place for cycling for transportation, recreation, sport and health.

                 May is Bike Safety Month. Share the Road, it's the Law!

Join us for 2008 "Bike to Work" Rides, which will feature exiting contests and prizes! Enroll your business or employer as a "Bike to Work" desitination and get employers and co-workers to join in as well!
